Shoe Babies and Little Green Pigs

Our daughter Cassy loves the picture book Shoe Baby, written by Joyce Dunbar and illustrated by Polly DunLinkbar. It's probably the first book where I realized that very little babies can enjoy a narrative and the sound of language , since that has been a favorite since she was tiny.

So we've decided to take the risk and bought tickets to see the puppet theatre version in Brighton in a couple of weeks. Cassy is 1 1/2 so who knows if she will stick with it. But she does love the book.

So if you are anywhere near Brighton, have a think about booking a place here. Polly is involved in the Longnose Puppets who developed it, and the music is by Tom Gray from the band Gomez. So it's sure to be a winner!

Oh, and Little Green Pig, the creative writing workshops for young people in Brighton, are launching an anthology of work. The celebration will be on Tuesday, 9th December, at the Jubilee Library from 6:00-7:00 pm. If you know any young people in the area who are keen to develop their writing, Little Green Pig is the place for them.

Hi Laura, hope you had a great Christmas. It's definitely not a risk to go to one of Polly's shows - the Shoe Baby puppet is amazing and I'm sure that Cassy will love it! Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Tasha - she loved it. Afterwards she kept saying "shoe" and "song" - and I'm regretting that we didn't buy the CD.
